A Little Bit of History

The resort first opened in 1961 under the name Tod Mountain. It was a local favorite, but its major transformation began in 1992 when it was purchased by Nippon Cable. In 1993, it was renamed Sun Peaks Resort, and a massive expansion and the development of the master-planned, ski-through village began. This investment turned it from a local ski area into the internationally recognized, award-winning resort it is today.
