Transfers to Big White Resort

Your perfect Canadian ski trip starts the moment you land, not when you finally find your way to the mountain. Let’s talk about Big White Ski Resort. Located in the stunning Okanagan Highland of British Columbia, Canada, Big White is world-famous for two things: its massive annual snowfall of dry, feathery “champagne powder” and being Canada’s largest totally ski-in, ski-out resort village. It’s a paradise for deep-snow seekers, families, and anyone who wants their condo or hotel to be just steps from a lift. Getting there from the airport, however, requires a bit of planning, especially in winter. Rocks2Rocks offers reliable and professional transfers to Big White from nearby airports, ensuring your journey from the tarmac to the powder is a completely hassle-free experience. We handle the snowy roads so you can start your vacation from the moment you buckle up in our warm, modern vehicle.

Transportation Options for Transfers to Big White Resort

We believe your ground transport should match the quality of your destination. Rocks2Rocks provides a fleet of modern and clean vehicles to ensure your ride is comfortable, safe, and tailored to your group’s needs.

Choose between our main services for your shuttle to Big White:

Private Transfers: The ultimate in convenience. Your group gets exclusive use of a vehicle, typically a premium SUV (for up to 6 passengers) or a spacious private van (for up to 11 passengers). There are no extra stops or waiting for other travelers. It’s the most direct and efficient way to get to the resort, with plenty of room for luggage and ski gear.

Shared Shuttles: A more affordable option for solo travelers or smaller groups. You’ll share the ride with other passengers heading to the resort. This service, often a bus to Big White, may include a few scheduled stops along the way but provides a safe and economical journey.

All our services are operated by professional drivers experienced in mountain road conditions, giving you peace of mind.

History

The story of Big White began in 1963 when founders Cliff Serwa and Douglas Mervyn saw the potential in the mountain’s epic snowfall. From a single T-bar, the resort underwent significant expansion, especially in the 1980s under new ownership. This period saw the development of its now-famous village, transforming it into the world-class, family-friendly destination it is today. The goal was always to create a place where you could ski right to your front door, and that vision has been fully realized.

You can explore the serene backcountry on a snowshoe tour, go for a skate on Canada’s highest outdoor rink, or get your adrenaline pumping at the tube park. For a unique experience, try the ice climbing tower, take a guided dog sledding tour through the forest, or enjoy a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride to a cozy cabin for dinner.

Big White Resort Guide & FAQ

For the deepest and most reliable powder conditions, the period from mid-January through early March is typically considered prime time. The Christmas and New Year holidays are also very popular but book up quickly.

The season usually runs from late November to mid-April, but exact opening and closing dates are always dependent on snow conditions. The 2023/2024 season, for example, ran from November 23rd to April 14th. Always check the official Big White website for the current season’s schedule.

Yes, it is highly recommended. You can book both equipment rentals (from shops like Big White Rentals in the village) and lift passes online in advance. Booking ahead often saves you money and guarantees availability, especially during peak periods.

The main access road, Highway 33, is a mountain highway that requires vehicles to have proper winter tires (M+S or snowflake symbol) by law from October 1st to April 30th. Conditions can change rapidly, with heavy snowfall and icy patches. This is a primary reason visitors choose a reliable private car service with professional drivers.

We recommend booking your transfers to Big White as soon as you confirm your flights and accommodation. Our services, especially private transfers, are in high demand during peak season (Christmas, New Year’s, and school holidays). Booking early ensures availability and the best choice of vehicles.

We often have special pricing available for larger groups or for travel during off-peak times. Exact information is not available online – please contact us directly with your travel dates and group size for a detailed quote.
